Some weekends ago I undertook a journey to Petit Goâve, a city of some 112 000 inhabitants (other figures say around 170 000), and a one and a half hour drive (in theory that is) south of Port-au-Prince. For the first time on a long distance public transport, in a regular but as usual overloaded van and not a more common tap tap, the kind of minibus which makes you think carnival is late this year.
